2027 Presidency: Kwankwaso Outlines Winning Strategy for NNPP Amid Defection Rumours

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has revealed the key steps the party must take to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at an interactive session with NNPP stakeholders in Cross River State on Tuesday, the former Kano State governor urged party members to remain united and committed to strengthening the party’s structures nationwide.

Kwankwaso, who finished fourth in the 2023 presidential race, praised members for their contributions during the last election but said greater effort would be required in the next poll.

“Let me thank you for what you did during the last election in 2023. I urge you to work harder so that, by the grace of God, our party, the NNPP, will win elections in Cross River and across Nigeria,” he said.

He also pointed to the party’s new state office in Calabar and growing presence across local government areas in Cross River as evidence of the NNPP’s expansion.

However, Kwankwaso’s commitment to the NNPP has been questioned amid reports of possible alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Speculation intensified after his ally, Abdulmumin Jibrin, a House of Representatives member from Kano, confirmed that discussions were ongoing and that “the doors are not closed” on Kwankwaso defecting before 2027.

The NNPP leader has yet to publicly confirm or deny the reports, leaving political observers to watch closely how his next moves may reshape the 2027 presidential race.
