Ebenezer Obey Dispels Death and Stroke Rumours: ‘Enemies Have Come Again’

Nigerian juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey, has dismissed viral rumours that he suffered a stroke and died, insisting he is alive and in good health.

The 82-year-old music icon addressed the speculation in a video shared on his official Instagram page, describing the claims as malicious and false.

“Stop the rumours. Ebenezer Obey is alive and well. What they have said is lies that came from the kingdom of darkness. I’m alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ. I don’t have a stroke. I arrived in London yesterday to look after myself,” he declared.

The false report, which quickly spread across social media, had alleged that the veteran musician was battling complications from a stroke. Fans expressed deep concern until his personal clarification brought relief.

Obey, affectionately called the “Chief Commander,” also hinted that such rumours were attempts to tarnish his image, stressing that he remains strong in body and spirit.

The video was met with a flood of supportive messages from admirers, who filled the comment section with prayers, words of encouragement, and gratitude that the music legend is still alive.

This episode adds to a growing trend of Nigerian celebrities being targeted by death hoaxes online, raising renewed concern over the dangers of misinformation in the digital space.
