Tacha blasts content creators over criticism of Lagos infrastructure

Former Big Brother Naija star and media personality, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has taken a swipe at content creators for what she described as their persistent attacks on Lagos State’s infrastructure.

Tacha accused them of hypocrisy, arguing that their constant focus on Lagos gives the impression that no other Nigerian state faces infrastructural challenges.

“All these content creators! Everyday Lagos State, Lagos State! One will think ‘Lagos State’ is the only state in Nigeria. Oyah, post a ‘highbrow’ area in your own state and you’ll be nowhere to be found. I doubt you even know who your local government chairman is,” she wrote on her X handle while reacting to a viral video highlighting poor drainage in a Lagos highbrow area.

Lagos “smells” controversy

Her comments follow a recent wave of criticism from some influencers and entertainers. A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Ushie Uguamaye, known as Raye, alongside influencer Scott Iguma and comedian Acapella, sparked heated reactions after claiming that Lagos “smells.”

Responding to the backlash, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, dismissed the allegations, insisting that certain individuals were deliberately attempting to damage the state’s reputation.

Tacha’s remarks have since reignited debate on social media, with supporters praising her bluntness while others argue that citizens have the right to demand better infrastructure.
