Davido Clarifies Viral Warri Nightclub Video After Fans Suspect Attack

Afrobeats superstar Davido has broken his silence following the circulation of a viral video that appeared to show him being struck in the head while leaving a nightclub in Warri, Delta State.

The incident occurred shortly after his performance at a wedding in the city, where the singer later stopped by at a popular nightclub. In the clip, a man from the crowd seemed to slap Davido as he made his way out, prompting widespread outrage from fans who feared he had been attacked.

Addressing the speculation, Davido took to X to explain that it was not an assault but an accident involving his security detail.

“That was my security. Hit me by mistake,” he wrote, dismissing claims of any confrontation.

The clarification has since calmed concerns among fans, many of whom had expressed anger and worry over the safety of one of Nigeria’s biggest music exports.
