The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State has welcomed a new State Commandant, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, following his redeployment from Nasarawa State.

A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, confirmed that Ingawa, a native of Katsina State, officially took over as the 16th commandant in Jigawa.

Ingawa, a graduate of Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano, brings years of professional experience, having served in NSCDC formations across Katsina, Jigawa, Delta, Kaduna and Nasarawa states. He previously worked in Jigawa before moving to Kaduna, making him well-versed in the state’s security landscape.

Until his recent posting, he was the NSCDC Commandant in Nasarawa. He is also an Associate Member of the Corporate Institute of Administration and has attended several security and management workshops both within and outside Nigeria.

His security career began at the Correctional Service Training School in Owerri, Imo State, before advancing to the Nigerian Correctional Staff College, Kaduna. Among his recognitions is the Most Punctual Staff Award, which he received at the Jigawa State Command in 2013.

Officials say his redeployment is expected to strengthen the command’s ability to protect critical national assets, manage crises, and enhance internal security in Jigawa.

Ingawa replaces Bala Bawa Bodinga, who has been moved to Kano State following the retirement of its former commandant.
