Burna Boy Ejects Couple from Denver Concert for Sleeping During Performance

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, caused a stir at his Denver, U.S., concert on Wednesday night after he ordered a couple to leave mid-performance for allegedly sleeping during his set.

The incident occurred when Burna Boy noticed a couple dozing near the front of the stage. Frustrated, he paused his performance and confronted the male fan, demanding he take his girlfriend home.

“When I stand up here [on the stage] and see you over there with your girl sleeping in the front of me, it pisses me the fk up. So, please, take her the fk home… Walahi I’m not performing another song till you go home,” Burna Boy said.

Initially resistant, the couple eventually left after the crowd began urging them to comply. Burna Boy resumed his performance once they exited the venue.

The action has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans criticizing the singer for ejecting ticket holders over what they consider trivial reasons.

This is not the first time Burna Boy has removed fans from his shows for similar reasons. He previously asked a fan to leave for attempting to hug him mid-performance and has also removed concertgoers for not dancing during his set.

The singer’s reputation for strict stage conduct continues to draw both criticism and intrigue from fans and observers worldwide.
