British authorities are seeking information on two individuals following a “racially aggravated” incident in central London.
The British Transport Police released a photograph of the individuals they wish to speak to in connection with an event at Bond Street Tube station on October 11, where a woman and her family were allegedly assaulted and racially abused. CNN identified the pair as MAGA influencer Melissa Rein Lively and her partner, German businessman Philipp Ostermann. Police did not confirm the couple’s involvement in the incident.
According to the police, the victim was entering the station with her sister and two young children when a man and woman walking ahead collided with a pushchair. The man reportedly shouted racial abuse and sprayed what he claimed was pepper spray at the family, while the woman grabbed the victim’s hair, shouted abuse, and made lewd gestures before both left the area. Use of pepper spray is illegal in the UK.
“Officers believe the man and woman in the image could have information that may assist their enquiries,” the police said.
Rein Lively, a known Trump supporter and head of America First PR in Arizona, has previously courted controversy. She campaigned for the White House Press Secretary role and drew online attention during the Covid-19 pandemic for an incident at a Scottsdale Target store, earning the nickname “QAnon Karen.” She has since denounced her past QAnon involvement.
Ostermann, a private equity associate director based in Munich, had been scheduled to speak at a London conference but is no longer listed. Both individuals have largely disappeared from online platforms, with Ostermann deleting his LinkedIn account and Rein Lively temporarily disabling her X account.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation.
