Amaechi Ally Eze Berates Oshiomhole: ‘You Don’t Deserve His Attention’

A fresh political clash has erupted within the All Progressives Congress (APC) after Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a close associate of former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, launched a blistering attack on Senator Adams Oshiomhole over comments made on national television.

Oshiomhole, appearing on Channels TV’s Politics Today, had described Amaechi as “the most terrible” and accused him of mismanaging Nigeria’s rail sector, questioning why the former minister approved a rail line to Niger Republic while Rivers State—Amaechi’s home state—had none. He also downplayed Amaechi’s role in the APC’s 2015 victory.

Eze, responding in a statement on Thursday, dismissed the Edo North senator’s criticisms as baseless and politically motivated, insisting Oshiomhole was “not worthy of Amaechi’s attention.”

He alleged that senior APC figures were becoming increasingly agitated ahead of what he called the party’s “imminent defeat,” adding that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration had driven the nation “into the abyss.”

“Oshiomhole is one of those who, by their penchant, should be behind bars if the system was working,” Eze claimed, describing the former APC national chairman as a “puppet senator” benefiting from political protection.

He argued that Amaechi “speaks truth to power,” has “nothing to hide,” and remains committed to national development.

According to Eze, Amaechi’s reforms repositioned Nigeria’s railway system, and his blueprint continues to guide current transport policy despite what he called selective implementation by the current Minister of Transportation.

Eze also addressed Oshiomhole’s remarks on the shutdown of the judiciary during Amaechi’s tenure as Rivers governor, stating that the action stemmed from an attempt by “five lawmakers to impeach a sitting governor,” allegedly backed by then-Minister Nyesom Wike.

Taking further aim at Oshiomhole’s political record, Eze reminded him of his removal as APC national chairman by his own ward, saying, “He should hide his face.”

Eze emphasised that Amaechi remains focused on national issues and will not be distracted by political attacks.
