Nollywood actresses Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi and Wumi Toriola have publicly reconciled, bringing an end to a seven-year rift that once divided fans and sparked repeated controversies within the Nigerian film industry.

The unexpected reunion happened on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at a cinema in Ikeja, Lagos, where both actresses were separately promoting their latest projects. Toyin Abraham was on site to support her new film Oversabi Aunty, while Wumi Toriola was there for Behind the Scenes, a movie produced by Funke Akindele in which she stars.

A video of the encounter, now trending across social media platforms, captured a warm exchange between the two actresses as they acknowledged their past separation. In the clip, Wumi is heard telling Toyin, “I miss you,” before playfully asking her to swear she felt the same.

“I miss you too,” Toyin replied, moments before the pair embraced — a gesture widely interpreted as a public closure to years of tension.

The reconciliation marks a significant turn in a relationship that once appeared beyond repair. The actresses were previously close friends before their fallout in 2017, which spilled into the public domain through a series of allegations and online confrontations.

Wumi Toriola had accused Toyin Abraham of slapping her in a hotel room during the filming of Alakada Reloaded in 2017, warning her never to repeat such an action. The dispute escalated further in 2018 when Wumi publicly accused Toyin of faking her engagement, a claim that intensified fan divisions.

In 2023, the feud resurfaced after rumours circulated online alleging that Wumi had a secret affair with Toyin’s husband. Wumi strongly denied the allegation at the time, describing it as “false,” “diabolical,” and “intended to soil my name.”

Sunday’s reunion appears to have drawn a line under the long-running feud, with fans and industry colleagues welcoming the reconciliation as a rare moment of peace in Nollywood’s often turbulent celebrity landscape.
