“He will lose one of his very trusted allies before the election, and he must be careful in his party… He must work on the economy well to avoid a dire situation,” Primate Ayodele said.

Primate Ayodele predicted a serious pre-election crisis, warning that attempts to secure a third term by proxy could trigger unrest or even another coup.

South Sudan: International pressure and coup risk

The prophet forewarned of a possible coup in South Sudan, supported by the international community, and urged the president to avoid poor advice that could plunge the country into conflict.

“The country is in danger alert… The international community will start threatening countries trying to evade elections,” he said.
