Imo @ 50: Richard Ottih Hails Governor Uzodimma’s Leadership as Fulfilling Founding Fathers’ Vision

As Imo State marks its 50th anniversary, Hon. Ugochukwu Richard Ottih, CEO of the Richard Ottih Humanitarian Foundation, has praised Governor Hope Uzodimma for developmental achievements that he says align with the vision of the state’s founding fathers.

In a goodwill message, Ottih, popularly known as “Kpakpando 1 of Awa Ancient Kingdom,” described Uzodimma as a proactive leader whose tenure has coincided with a golden era of infrastructure, peace, and security in Imo State.

“Today, Imo State stands proudly as a massive construction site, with critical infrastructure development evident across the state,” Ottih said, commending the governor for creating a safe and investor-friendly environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Educational Milestones
Ottih also highlighted the establishment and accreditation of the Imo State University of Science and Innovation, Omuma, noting it as a landmark achievement that promises to secure the future of the state’s youth.

Worker-Friendly Policies
The humanitarian leader further praised Uzodimma’s civil servant and pensioner-friendly policies, citing prompt payment of salaries and pensions and the implementation of the new minimum wage as evidence of a leadership that values the dignity of labour.

“Celebrating Imo State at 50 under this administration is itself a celebration of purposeful leadership,” Ottih said, noting that Uzodimma’s achievements stand as milestones worthy of jubilation.

Tribute to First Lady
Ottih also congratulated First Lady Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, recently recognized as Daily Sun First Lady of the Year 2025, describing her as compassionate, humble, and deeply committed to the welfare of women, children, and the less privileged across the state.

“Her grace and supportive role continue to add value to governance in Imo State,” Ottih added, eulogising her as a loving wife and caring mother to all Imolites.
