Yobe Woman Arrested for Allegedly Mutilating Husband During Domestic Dispute

An 18-year-old housewife has been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command for allegedly mutilating her husband’s genitals during a domestic dispute in Potiskum Local Government Area.

The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, leaving the husband in critical condition. According to Dungus Abdulkarim, the state police spokesman, officers responded quickly to a distress call and found the victim lying in a pool of blood inside his room.

“On February 6, policemen responded to a distress call about a man injured in his home. When they arrived and could not find anyone, the victim was immediately taken to a clinic for initial treatment and later referred to Azare Medical Centre for further care,” Abdulkarim said.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the attack but was tracked down and apprehended on Monday. Police are investigating the circumstances that led the wife to allegedly use a sharp object against her husband.

Abdulkarim confirmed that the husband identified his wife as the attacker, but he has not yet provided a full statement due to the severity of his injuries. The police assured the public that further updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
