ICPC Traces Multiple Egyptian Properties to Ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai Amid Ongoing Probe

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly identified several high-value real estate assets in Egypt linked to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. The discoveries are part of the commission’s ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct during his tenure from 2015 to 2023.

According to reports from TheCable, the properties include three villas and six apartments located in Cairo’s upscale estates. The villas are situated in Arabilla Estate, Banafsik Estate, and Oriana II in New Cairo, while the apartments are in Cairo Festival City.

The villas reportedly command prices between $1 million and $1.3 million, while each apartment is valued at around $500,000. Specific assets traced to El-Rufai include:

  • One villa in Arabilla Estate, 5th Settlement Area, Cairo
  • One villa in Banafsik Estate, 1st Settlement Area, New Cairo
  • One villa in Oriana II, near the American University in Cairo

El-Rufai has been in ICPC custody since February 18, 2026, as investigators probe alleged financial irregularities during his governance. Prior to this, the former governor was interrogated by the Department of State Services (DSS) over claims that the phone of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu had been tapped.

The ICPC has yet to release an official statement on the full scope of the Egyptian properties, but the discoveries underscore the transnational dimension of the ongoing investigation into alleged corruption during El-Rufai’s administration.
