Nigerian actor Linc Edochie has cautioned youths in Northern Nigeria against staging protests in support of Iran, warning that actions perceived as hostile by global powers could put Nigeria at risk.
The actor issued the warning after reports of demonstrations in parts of Northern Nigeria following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed on February 28, 2026, in a joint airstrike attributed to Israel and the United States.
The situation has since escalated, with Iran launching retaliatory strikes on American and Israeli assets across parts of the Middle East, raising fears of a wider regional confrontation.
Speaking in a video shared on his Facebook page, Edochie urged Nigerians, particularly those participating in solidarity protests, to avoid actions that could draw unwanted international attention to the country.
According to him, Nigeria should not be dragged into conflicts involving powerful nations.
“You don’t want to provoke a superpower. If we draw their attention towards us, we’re in trouble. We cannot stand the fury of these countries,” he said.
The actor advised Nigerians to focus on domestic issues and maintain peace rather than aligning with global conflicts that do not directly involve the country.
Edochie also expressed concern that the escalating tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States could spiral into a broader global confrontation.
“This may not be our direct concern, but what is happening in the world, let us take this matter to God in prayers,” he said.
While acknowledging that modern conflicts may not follow traditional battlefield patterns, he warned that the unfolding crisis could become one of the deadliest in modern history if tensions continue to escalate.
