Cynosure Hospital Denies Link to Viral Video Following BBL Surgery Death of Jessica Elena

Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital has refuted claims tying the Lagos-based facility to the death of Nigerian socialite Jessica Elena following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

The controversy erupted after a video circulated online showing a woman, reportedly Jessica Elena, in visible distress on a hospital bed while receiving post-surgical wound care. The clip sparked widespread outrage, fueling speculation about the hospital’s role in the young woman’s death.

In an official statement posted on its verified Instagram page on March 10, 2026, Cynosure Hospital denied that the footage originated from its premises.

“Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital is aware of a video circulating on social media showing a patient screaming during a surgical procedure, which is being falsely attributed to our facility. We state clearly: this video was not recorded at our clinic, and we do not know the location or facility where it occurred,” the statement read.

The hospital urged the public to avoid sharing unverified content, highlighting the emotional toll such misinformation can have on grieving families. Management extended condolences to Jessica Elena’s family and called on social media users to handle the matter with sensitivity.

The incident has reignited discussions around the safety of cosmetic procedures like BBL surgeries and the growing demand for body enhancement treatments in Nigeria.
