The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially inaugurated its newly elected State Working Committee (SWC) in Ebonyi State, appointing Hon. Chukwuma Igwe as State Chairman and Hon. Henry Ngonu as State Secretary.

The election, held at the PDP Secretariat along the Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway on Friday, drew a large turnout of party faithful and was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with security agencies ensuring a peaceful process.

Consensus election and smooth conduct

Barr Ukpai Ukairo, Chairman of the seven-man Congress Committee, announced that the party adopted a consensus approach in the elections to minimize internal disputes. He commended Ebonyi PDP members for the conduct and urged the new leadership to focus on rebuilding the party.

“There is serious work to be done as the PDP is poised to bounce back, especially with the 2027 general elections approaching,” Ukairo said.
