Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has suggested that President Bola Tinubu’s recent trip to the United Kingdom may be primarily for medical reasons, questioning the tangible benefits of the visit for Nigeria.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Wednesday, Sowore noted that Tinubu has not travelled for about a month and that the high-profile nature of the trip could be masking its true purpose.
“These visits are nothing more than diplomatic excursions. Perhaps the President will also see his doctors; he has not travelled in about a month,” Sowore said.
He criticized the fanfare surrounding the visit, arguing that it lacked concrete outcomes for Nigeria and may serve more symbolic than practical purposes.
