President Bola Tinubu has launched a new digital engagement platform aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economic coordination and accelerating the push toward a trillion-dollar economy.

The initiative, known as the Renewed Hope Enterprise Bridge Initiative, was unveiled at the State House in Abuja as part of efforts to improve collaboration between government policymakers and the private sector.

Represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the President said the platform is designed to close the gap between economic decision-makers and entrepreneurs who drive real-time business activity.

He noted that a major challenge in governance has been the disconnect between policy formulation and the practical realities faced by businesses operating in Nigeria’s economy.

Tinubu explained that the new platform will function as a structured feedback channel where entrepreneurs can directly communicate challenges, insights, and suggestions to government institutions in real time.

According to him, effective policy must be shaped by lived experience, stressing that no economic framework can succeed if it is detached from the conditions under which businesses operate daily.

He added that the initiative is not symbolic but strategic, describing it as a long-term mechanism to ensure that government policies are continuously refined based on direct input from the private sector.

Speaking at the launch, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development, Chalya Shagaya, said the initiative places entrepreneurs at the center of Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda.

She explained that the administration is already working on reforms targeted at reducing regulatory bottlenecks and improving access to finance for small and medium-scale businesses across the country.

Shagaya added that the engagement platform would not be a one-off consultation but a continuous process aimed at building stronger trust between government and the business community.

Also speaking, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, highlighted the role of the creative and digital sectors in expanding Nigeria’s economic base and attracting foreign investment.

The government says the initiative forms part of broader reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for long-term economic expansion driven by innovation, entrepreneurship, and private sector participation.
