Security forces operating in Nigeria’s North-East have arrested two suspected logistics operatives linked to terrorist activities during a coordinated operation in Damaturu, in what authorities describe as part of a wider crackdown on insurgent supply networks.

The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 2 under Operation HADIN KAI following actionable intelligence tied to intercepted communications from a previously detained repentant member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Security sources disclosed that the arrests were made at about 12:05 p.m. on May 11, 2026, in Damaturu, the headquarters of Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Investigators reportedly linked the suspects to a coordinated plan involving the movement of ammunition within the region, with one suspect allegedly tasked with collecting arms from the other for onward delivery to a terrorist commander.

Military sources said preliminary findings indicate that the operation was part of a broader logistics chain supporting insurgent activities in the North-East, an area that has faced prolonged security challenges.

Both suspects are currently in custody as interrogation continues, with security agencies working to unravel the full extent of their network and operational roles.

Authorities have also launched efforts to track down the alleged commander connected to the operation and recover the ammunition reportedly intended for delivery.

Operation HADIN KAI officials say intelligence-driven arrests like this are critical to disrupting supply routes that sustain terrorist operations across the region.

Security analysts note that logistics networks remain one of the most vital components of insurgent resilience, making their dismantling a key priority in ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
