ADC Governorship Candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Loses Mother, Announces Passing of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, is mourning the death of his mother, Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso).

The politician announced her passing on Monday in a heartfelt message posted on his official X account, expressing gratitude for what he described as a life well lived while sharing the family’s deep sense of loss.

Rhodes-Vivour paid tribute to his late mother, describing her as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother whose life was defined by compassion, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to her family.

“With sadness in our hearts and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the call to glory of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso).

“A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. The epitome of love. She will be sorely missed. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly,” he wrote.

Alongside the announcement, the Rhodes-Vivour family released a memorial tribute celebrating the late matriarch’s life, describing her as a woman whose kindness, warmth and generosity touched countless lives.

The tribute noted that her enduring legacy would live on through the values she instilled in her family and the many people she inspired during her lifetime.

Although the family did not disclose the cause of her death, they confirmed that details of the funeral arrangements will be made public in due course.

The announcement has since drawn messages of sympathy from supporters, political associates and well-wishers who have offered condolences to Rhodes-Vivour and his family during their period of mourning.
