Nedu Wazobia Claims Abuja Is Nigeria’s ‘Sugar Mummy Industry Headquarters’ in Viral Conversation

Controversial media personality Nedu Wazobia has sparked online reactions after claiming that Abuja is the centre of what he described as Nigeria’s “Sugar Mummy industry.”

Nedu made the comment during a conversation with content creator Ludahydrate, where he described the alleged lifestyle trend as one of the biggest informal “industries” in the country.

Speaking in the viral video, Nedu said he believed the Federal Capital Territory had become the major hub for such relationships.

“The Sugar Mummy industry is one of the biggest industries in Nigeria. The headquarters as far as I am concerned is here in Abuja,” he said.

Supporting Nedu’s claim, Ludahydrate linked the trend to the concentration of wealthy political figures and influential individuals in Abuja.

He argued that some divorced or single women who become financially independent after previous marriages may choose not to remarry but instead pursue relationships with younger partners.

The content creator said some women who receive significant settlements after divorce, including businesses or properties, may gain enough financial independence to make different personal choices.

The comments have generated discussions online, with many Nigerians debating the claims, while others questioned the generalisations made about relationships, wealth and social life in Abuja.

Neither Nedu nor Ludahydrate provided data or evidence to support the claims, which remain personal opinions expressed during their conversation.
