Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has congratulated the Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, as he celebrates his 63rd birthday, describing him as a committed public servant whose leadership has contributed to Nigeria’s development.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation extended the goodwill message on behalf of its President-General, Senator Azuta Mbata, through a statement signed by its Global Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu.
Ohanaeze praised Umahi’s years of service, highlighting his tenure as Governor of Ebonyi State and his current role as Minister of Works as evidence of his dedication to infrastructure development and national growth.
The group described the former governor as a statesman whose approach to governance has reflected innovation, commitment and a strong desire to improve public infrastructure across the country.
“Today, we celebrate a statesman whose commitment to public service, visionary leadership and strong dedication to infrastructure development have earned him widespread admiration across Nigeria,” the statement said.
Ohanaeze also noted that Umahi’s achievements have continued to project what it described as the ingenuity, resilience and excellence associated with the Igbo people.
The organisation prayed for continued strength, good health, wisdom and more years of fruitful service for the minister, while wishing him peace and greater accomplishments in his personal and public life.
Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State, was appointed Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu and has been overseeing major road infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
