Real Madrid Agree £42.3m Double Transfer as Fulham Seal Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios Deals

Fulham have struck a major transfer agreement with Real Madrid, reaching a deal worth £42.3 million (€50 million) to sign academy graduates Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios.

The double signing represents another significant investment by the Premier League club as it strengthens its squad with two of Real Madrid’s highly rated young talents ahead of the new season.

According to Sky Sports, Fulham will pay approximately £34 million for Garcia, the 22-year-old striker who emerged as the top scorer at last summer’s FIFA Club World Cup. The forward has attracted growing interest following his impressive performances and is now set to continue his development in English football.

The second part of the deal involves 18-year-old midfielder Cesar Palacios, who is expected to join Fulham for around £8.5 million. Palacios made his senior debut for Real Madrid in January and is regarded as one of the club’s brightest midfield prospects.

Both players progressed through Real Madrid’s renowned youth academy before earning opportunities with the senior setup, making the transfers another example of the Spanish giants’ ability to develop valuable young talent.

A key figure behind the move is Fulham’s new head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, whose close knowledge of both players proved crucial during negotiations. Arbeloa previously worked as a first-team coach at Real Madrid and also spent time within the club’s academy, where he closely monitored the development of Garcia and Palacios.

His familiarity with the pair is understood to have played a major role in convincing Fulham to complete the double swoop as the London club continues its squad rebuild.

Should both transfers be completed as expected, Garcia and Palacios will become the latest graduates of Real Madrid’s academy to begin the next chapter of their careers in the Premier League.
