Kidnapped NYSC Member Sandra Sunday Regains Freedom After Days in Captivity

Sandra Sunday, one of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted along the Kabba–Lokoja road in Kogi State, has regained her freedom after spending days in captivity.

A family member confirmed the development to DAILY POST on Monday, bringing relief to relatives and supporters who had been waiting for news of her safe return.

Sandra was among the corps members reportedly kidnapped while travelling through the Kogi axis after completing their orientation camp. The incident raised fresh concerns over the safety of young Nigerians deployed across the country for national service.

Her abduction also drew attention to security challenges along major roads in Kogi, particularly concerns over the vulnerability of corps members travelling between their places of deployment and other parts of the country.

Details surrounding Sandra’s release were not immediately available at the time of filing this report. It was also unclear whether security agencies or other parties were directly involved in securing her freedom.

Her family, however, expressed gratitude to God and to everyone who contributed to efforts that resulted in her release.
