Tinubu Celebrates Shettima at 60, Hails Vice President as Trusted Ally and Patriot

President Bola Tinubu has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima as he turns 60, describing him as a trusted ally, patriot and dedicated public servant whose experience has contributed to his administration.

Tinubu, in a birthday message issued ahead of Shettima’s milestone on Wednesday, congratulated the Vice President alongside his wife, Nana Shettima, their children, family members and political associates.

The President praised Shettima’s years of service, from his career in banking and his tenure as Governor of Borno State to his time as a senator and his current role as Vice President of Nigeria.

“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” Tinubu said.

He highlighted Shettima’s contribution to national unity and development, describing his record in public office as evidence of courage, diligence and compassion. Tinubu also commended the Vice President for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President particularly praised Shettima’s leadership of the National Economic Council, saying he had played an important role in coordinating economic policies and strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments.

Tinubu also credited the Vice President with promoting constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, saying his approach had contributed to strengthening good governance in the country.

“His loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said, thanking Shettima for his partnership in pursuing the government’s promises to Nigerians.

The President prayed for Shettima’s continued good health, wisdom and strength, expressing confidence that both men would continue working together to advance the country’s development.

In a separate birthday message, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu also congratulated Shettima, joining his wife, Nana, family and friends in marking his 60th birthday.

The First Lady described the Vice President as a leader who has demonstrated “strength, loyalty, commitment and love for country,” while celebrating his accomplishments as a banker, senator and former governor of Borno State.

She prayed for divine health, peace, joy and happiness for Shettima as he begins another decade of his life.
