Uzodimma Clears Air on Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign: ‘Renewed Hope Ambassadors Not in Conflict With APC Council’

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has dismissed concerns over an alleged rivalry within President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign structure, saying the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will work alongside the newly constituted All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

Uzodimma, who leads the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and also serves as Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, made the clarification at an emergency meeting of the group in Abuja.

The meeting followed speculation that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors could be dissolved after the APC constituted its campaign council ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Uzodimma said President Tinubu had asked him to reassure members that the Ambassadors remained active and had not been replaced by the campaign council. He explained that both structures have different responsibilities but share the same political objective.

According to the governor, the Presidential Campaign Council will concentrate primarily on coordinating activities for the 2027 election, while the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will retain its grassroots mobilisation and public communication roles.

Uzodimma said the continued existence of the Ambassadors reflects its broader mandate, which extends beyond the immediate campaign season. He therefore urged members to remain focused and continue mobilising support for the Tinubu administration.

The Imo governor also announced plans for a national political summit scheduled for the third week of September. He said the event would bring together elected and appointed political office holders, with President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima expected to address participants.

With questions over the relationship between the two campaign structures now addressed, Uzodimma said both groups would work together ahead of 2027. The central goal, he stressed, is to maximise support and secure President Tinubu’s re-election.
