Nigerian Army Warns Nigerians Over Fake 92 Regular Recruitment Intake Notice

The Nigerian Army has warned Nigerians to disregard a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media claiming that applications for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake have opened.

The Army described the publication as false, urging prospective applicants and members of the public not to act on the information or engage with anyone promoting the fake recruitment exercise.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Directorate of Recruitment, Captain AU Hammanga, the Army said the notice did not originate from the service.

“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the Nigerian Army stated.

The Army explained that it follows an established procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities. It said the public would be formally notified through its recognised communication channels when applications for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake officially begin.

The warning comes amid concerns that fraudsters could use the fake recruitment announcement to target job seekers, obtain personal information or demand money from unsuspecting applicants.

The Army therefore advised prospective recruits to verify recruitment information through its official channels before submitting applications, sharing personal details or making any payment.

The service also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting recruitment exercises in a transparent and professional manner, stressing that only information released through its authorised platforms should be trusted.

Until the Nigerian Army makes an official announcement, members of the public are advised to ignore any social media post claiming that the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake application portal is open.
