2027: City Boy Movement Appoints Isaac Balami as National Director Amid APC Realignment

The City Boy Movement has appointed aviation entrepreneur and political mobiliser Isaac Balami as an executive board member and National Director on Special Duty, in a move expected to strengthen the group’s political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Balami’s appointment comes shortly after his reported departure from the Obidient Movement and amid his growing involvement in efforts to mobilise support groups and political associates towards the All Progressives Congress, APC.

His appointment letter was formally presented by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, and National Secretary, Hon. Tosin Odufuwa, alongside other members of the organisation’s board.

The development was also confirmed by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The City Boy Movement describes its executive board as its highest decision-making body, responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the organisation’s activities.

Balami’s entry is being viewed by supporters as significant because of his growing network among youth groups and political support platforms across Nigeria. His new role is expected to strengthen the movement’s mobilisation efforts in the North and Middle Belt, where he has built relationships with several political associates and support groups.

Associates have also described Balami as the first Christian from Northern Nigeria to serve on the movement’s executive board, saying his inclusion could broaden the representation of ethnic, religious and regional interests within the organisation.

His appointment follows months of increased political activity after his reported exit from the Obidient Movement. Balami has since been involved with several support groups and political platforms that are moving closer to the APC, in what supporters describe as part of a wider political realignment ahead of 2027.

The City Boy Movement has also appointed Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari, son of former Zamfara State Governor and APC chieftain Abdul’aziz Yari, to its executive board. The appointments are expected to expand the movement’s political structure and strengthen its reach among young Nigerians and support groups.

Balami, who has established himself in Nigeria’s aviation industry, has combined his professional career with youth mobilisation and political advocacy. He served as Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi-Datti campaign organisation during the 2023 presidential election.

With his new position, Balami is expected to play a central role in coordinating the City Boy Movement’s mobilisation strategy and expanding its political network across the country as parties and support groups position themselves for the 2027 elections.
