‘Zombies’ Actress Carla Jeffery Dies at 33

Actress Carla Jeffery, best known for playing Bree in Disney’s popular Zombies film franchise, has died at the age of 33.

Jeffery’s death was confirmed by her manager, Carla Alexander, founder of Los Angeles-based Alexanders Talent Management. Alexander described the actress as more than a client, saying she had become family.

“Carla was more than a client; she was family,” Alexander said in a statement. “Our hearts are with Carla’s family and loved ones during this devastating time.”

Alexander also told KTLA that more details about Jeffery’s death would be made public in the coming days. Her cause of death has not been disclosed.

Born in Houston, Texas, Jeffery began her acting career at 12, making her film debut alongside Mo’Nique in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz. She went on to build a career in television and film, particularly through Disney productions.

Her early television credits included appearances in Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up! and Best Friends Whenever. She later became widely recognised among Disney audiences for her role as Bree in the Zombies franchise.

As Bree, Jeffery played a close and loyal friend to Addison, portrayed by Meg Donnelly. The character became a familiar presence throughout the film series and its animated spinoff, helping cement Jeffery’s place among the franchise’s young-adult audience.

Jeffery also appeared in other projects, including Disney’s Prom Pact. Remembering the actress, Alexander said she was passionate about her career and praised her character.

“She loved what she did. She was a great person,” Alexander said.

News of Jeffery’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues, with many remembering her for her performances and contribution to Disney’s youth-focused entertainment.
