Trump White House Launches MAGA Arcade Games Featuring Deportation and Border Wall Themes

The White House under US President Donald Trump has launched an online arcade featuring politically themed versions of classic video games, including games that portray migrant deportation and border-wall construction as entertainment.

The website, unveiled on Thursday, includes games inspired by popular titles such as Snake and Tetris, but with themes reflecting some of Trump’s signature immigration policies. Rights groups have condemned the initiative, arguing that it trivialises the experiences of migrants affected by the administration’s enforcement measures.

One of the games, “Rio Run,” is based on Snake and features a digital representation of US border czar Tom Homan chasing migrants of different skin colours along the Rio Grande near the US-Mexico border.

Another game, “Build the Wall,” draws on the block-stacking format of Tetris. Players are instructed to protect the border from what the game describes as an approaching “horde”, reinforcing Trump’s long-running campaign message about border security.

A third game promotes Trump Accounts, investment accounts backed by a $1,000 government contribution for children born between 2025 and 2028. The White House also promoted the arcade on X using a MAGA-themed logo inspired by the branding of video game company Sega.

The White House described the initiative as part of its effort to present the Trump administration’s policies and achievements in a way it believes will connect with Americans. It also framed the games as a contrast to what it described as the Democrats’ “dark socialist vision” for the country.

The launch has drawn strong criticism from immigration and human rights advocates. Amerika Garcia Grewal, co-director of the Frontera Federation in Eagle Pass, Texas, told AFP that turning immigration enforcement into a video game was disturbing. Adriana Jasso of AMIGOS San Diego Community also accused the administration of showing a lack of seriousness toward the human consequences of its immigration policies.

Trump returned to the White House after campaigning on a promise to deport millions of undocumented migrants. His administration has since pursued measures aimed at increasing arrests and deportations while reducing illegal border crossings. The latest gaming initiative adds another layer to the White House’s highly provocative approach to communicating its political agenda online.
