Nasarawa United Coach Mangut Confident Team Will Improve After Bendel Insurance Win

Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut is confident the Solid Miners will continue to improve as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season progresses.

Nasarawa United secured their first league victory of the campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Bendel Insurance at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.

Sam Pam scored the decisive goal 10 minutes after the restart, handing the Solid Miners three valuable points after their disappointing opening-day defeat.

Nasarawa United had started the season with a 3-1 loss to Barau FC, but Mangut believes the team is already showing signs of progress as his players adapt to the demands of the new campaign.

“Yeah, it was a difficult game for us. It was our second game of the season, and I can boldly say we are improving game in, game out,” Mangut told the club’s media.

The coach acknowledged that Bendel Insurance made the contest difficult but expressed satisfaction with the progress of his squad, which combines experienced players with younger talents.

“We are, however, still very fresh, mixing experience with youthfulness, and I do know we will get better as we progress in this campaign,” he added.

The victory gives Nasarawa United an important boost ahead of their next NPFL fixture, when they will face defending champions Rangers.

Mangut will now hope his side can build on the Bendel Insurance result and maintain their upward momentum as the season gathers pace.
