Nigeria is turning its end-of-year festive season into a 100-day tourism programme, bringing major cultural, entertainment and lifestyle events across the country together on one national calendar.
The Federal Government has unveiled “Ember to Remember 2026,” a nationwide initiative covering festivals, concerts, exhibitions, food experiences, fashion shows, sporting events and cultural celebrations from September through December.
The programme is designed to make it easier for Nigerians, members of the diaspora and international visitors to discover events taking place across different parts of the country during the festive period.
The national calendar is powered by MyCityApp, with state governments, event organisers, tourism operators and hospitality businesses encouraged to list their events on the platform.

Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, said the initiative is intended to turn the festive season into a broader economic opportunity rather than limiting it to entertainment and celebrations.
The Federal Government says the programme is expected to support businesses, create jobs and attract investment by increasing the visibility of Nigeria’s tourism and creative offerings during one of the busiest periods of the year.
Organisers said the initiative forms part of a wider ambition to unlock what they describe as a $100 billion opportunity in Nigeria’s tourism and creative economy.
With events now being brought under one digital calendar, the success of the programme will depend on participation from states, businesses and event organisers across the country. The initiative also gives visitors a single starting point for discovering Nigeria’s diverse festive experiences.
