Niger Tornadoes Coach Dogo Worried Over Goal-Scoring Woes

Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Kabiru Dogo has expressed concern over his team’s poor finishing after the Ikon Allah Boys were held to a stalemate by Warri Wolves.

The Niger Tornadoes missed several chances during the encounter, continuing a recent run of disappointing results in front of goal.

Dogo said the coaching staff would work to address the problem after the team managed just one goal in its last three matches.

“We scored four goals in our first two opening matches against Enyimba and Kano Pillars, making us believe we wouldn’t encounter goal-scoring challenges,” Dogo told the club’s media.

However, the team’s attacking output has since dropped significantly, with just one goal scored across its next three games.

“But now, we have managed to score just once in three games, which is not encouraging. Since we have identified the challenge, we will work collectively as a team to solve the goal-scoring problem,” he said.

Niger Tornadoes have recorded two draws and two defeats in their last four matches, a run that has left supporters frustrated.

Dogo acknowledged the concerns among the club’s fans but urged them to remain patient, particularly with the young players in the squad.

“We understand the frustration of our supporters, but equally call on them to exercise a little more patience with the team so as not to subject the young players in the team to too much pressure,” he added.

The coach noted that the season is still at an early stage, with plenty of matches remaining for the team to improve its results.

“This is just week five, with 33 more matches to play out of 38, so in my opinion, there is room for improvement, and it’s our responsibility as a team to work towards achieving the desired result,” Dogo said.
