Lagos Police Seal Suspected Fake Alcohol Factory, Arrest 48-Year-Old

The Lagos State Police Command has sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly producing adulterated alcoholic drinks in Yafin, Badagry, and arrested a 48-year-old man found at the facility.

The suspect, identified as Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was arrested after police operatives received information from members of the public about the suspected operation.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebesi, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Thursday, saying operatives moved in after receiving the information and discovered the suspected factory.

Police said the raid led to the recovery of adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, wine labels and various production utensils allegedly used to manufacture and package the drinks.

“The operation led to the arrest of Anaebo Emeka Hilary, ‘m’, 48 years, at Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State, where the suspected illegal factory was located,” the statement said.

The police said the premises had been sealed, while Hilary was taken into custody. The recovered items were also moved to the police station as investigations continue.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, praised the operatives for acting on the information and urged residents to continue providing credible information on suspected criminal activities. The command also encouraged the public to use its emergency lines to report suspicious activities.
