The death of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has prompted three gospel music organisers to cancel or postpone their scheduled events in honour of the late minister.
Toluwanisings died on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, leaving members of the gospel music community mourning his loss. His death has sparked tributes from fellow artistes and Christian music enthusiasts, with organisers choosing to put celebrations on hold as they pay their respects.
Among those who announced changes to their programmes are Kaywonder, Pure Gospel Music Generals Akure (PUGMUG) and AY Grace Music Ministry. The organisers said their decisions were influenced by the loss and the need to give the gospel community time to mourn.
Kaywonder, known for the song “Oke Nla”, announced on Thursday that the seventh edition of the Invasion Praise Concert, initially scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 2pm, had been postponed. The organiser said Toluwanisings’ death had deeply affected the gospel music community and made it necessary to defer the gathering.
In a statement, Kaywonder explained that the concert, despite being planned as a time of worship and praise, would be moved to another date to allow people to reflect and pray. The organiser said the new date would be announced soon and urged the public to remember the late singer in their prayers.
PUGMUG also cancelled its 10th anniversary celebration, which was scheduled for Friday, October 16. The organisation described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother and committed member of the gospel music community. It said the decision was taken to give members time to mourn, while apologising to guests, gospel ministers and sponsors affected by the cancellation.
Similarly, AY Grace Music Ministry postponed this month’s edition of its All Sufficient Monthly Praise programme, which was scheduled for Thursday. In a statement shared on Instagram, the ministry described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother in the gospel industry and said a new date would be announced in due course. It also extended condolences to his family, friends and loved ones, praying for strength and comfort for those affected by his death.
Toluwanisings was known for his energetic performances and Yoruba-influenced gospel praise songs, including “A Very Big God” and “Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo”. The changes to the three events reflect the grief within the gospel music community as artistes, ministries and fans continue to remember his life and musical contributions.
