Liberia have invited Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper Derrick Daddy Julu for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Cape Verde.
The call-up marks the first time Julu has been selected for the Liberia senior national team, following his recent performances for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side.
The shot-stopper has recorded three clean sheets in four appearances for Niger Tornadoes this month, a run of form that has earned him an opportunity to represent his country on the international stage.
Liberia, known as the Lone Star, will travel to Praia to face Cape Verde in their Matchday Three fixture on Friday, November 13, 2026.
The West African nation will then host Cape Verde in Monrovia four days later for their Matchday Four encounter as they seek to revive their qualifying campaign.
Liberia are yet to record a victory in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers, having lost their opening two matches. They began with a 3-1 away defeat to Rwanda before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss at home to Mali.
Julu’s invitation comes as Liberia look to strengthen their squad ahead of the two crucial fixtures, with the goalkeeper hoping to make an impression if given the opportunity to feature.
