Osimhen Closes in on Galatasaray’s All-Time Foreign Goalscoring Record

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is closing in on becoming Galatasaray’s all-time leading foreign goalscorer following his impressive performances for the Turkish Super Lig club.

Osimhen has scored 68 goals for the Istanbul giants, placing him third on the club’s all-time scoring chart, according to DAILY POST.

Former Argentina international Mauro Icardi leads the ranking with 77 goals, while Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi occupies second place with 72 strikes.

The 27-year-old strengthened his pursuit of the record with a brace in Galatasaray’s 2-1 derby victory over Fenerbahçe on Monday night.

Osimhen has also enjoyed a productive start to the current campaign, registering nine goals and three assists in nine appearances across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s side.

His scoring form has placed him within reach of the two players above him on Galatasaray’s goalscoring list. He needs five more goals to equal Hagi’s tally and 10 to match Icardi’s record.

With the season still underway, the Nigerian forward will be looking to maintain his form and move closer to a place in Galatasaray’s history books.
