Prominent Christian leaders from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter, and gospel ministers are expected in Ibadan for a five-day spiritual crusade beginning on Wednesday.
The programme, tagged Jesus Ibadan City Mega Crusade, is being organised by For His Glory Evangelistic Ministries in partnership with churches across Ibadanland.
The President of the ministry, Rob Welch, announced the event during a press briefing on Tuesday at Men of Issachar Vision, Olororo, Ojoo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Welch said the crusade was designed to provide an opportunity for spiritual renewal and strengthen the Christian faith through evangelism, worship and prayer.
He disclosed that prominent Christian leaders expected at the gathering include the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Archbishop Wale Oke; PFN National Vice-President for the South-West, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun; CAN Chairman in Oyo State, Reverend Elisha Ogundiya; and the state PFN Chairman, Reverend Samson Ajetomobi.
“Our desire is to see lives transformed through the message of Jesus Christ. This gathering is not simply about bringing people together for a religious programme; it is about creating an atmosphere where people can encounter God, renew their faith and experience spiritual transformation,” Welch said.
He added that the organisers hoped to attract participants from different parts of Nigeria to Ibadan, stressing that the ministry remained committed to taking the gospel beyond church walls and reaching people from different backgrounds with the message of hope and salvation.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Central Working Committee of the crusade, Pastor Obafemi Olofin, said arrangements were ongoing to ensure the smooth coordination of the five-day programme.
“We are working towards ensuring that everything required for a successful crusade is put in place. Our expectation is that people from different parts of Ibadan, Oyo State and beyond will participate in the programme and that the gathering will achieve its spiritual objectives,” he said.
The Chairman of the crusade’s Advisory Committee, Apostle Sunday Popoola, was also present at the press briefing.
The programme is scheduled to hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan and will feature musical performances by gospel artistes, including Lilian Nneji, Esther Igbekele, Pelumi Deborah, Bois Olorun and The Dentons.
