UD Almería to Donate All Ticket Sales From Tenerife Match to Jesús de Miguel’s Family

Spanish football club UD Almería have announced plans to donate all revenue generated from ticket sales for their home match against CD Tenerife to support the family of late footballer Jesús de Miguel.

The initiative, introduced by club president Mohammed Al Khereiji, is aimed at providing financial assistance to the bereaved family as they cope with the loss of their loved one.

Making the announcement, UD Almería expressed sympathy for the family and acknowledged that no financial contribution could undo the pain caused by such a tragedy.

The club stated that although money cannot replace a loved one or remove the emotional burden of bereavement, it hoped the gesture would offer some relief during the difficult period.

“We are fully aware that nothing can ever compensate for the loss of a loved one, and that no form of support, whether financial or emotional, can ease the pain caused by a tragedy of this kind,” the club said, as reported by ESPN.

Despite recognising the limitations of the donation, the Spanish side said it wanted to stand with Jesús de Miguel’s family through the initiative. All proceeds from tickets sold for the Tenerife fixture will go towards supporting them.

The gesture also comes amid growing attention on UD Almería’s ownership structure. Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo acquired a 25 per cent stake in the Spanish club earlier in 2026.

With the initiative led by Al Khereiji, the club hopes its support will provide practical assistance to the family while honouring the memory of the late footballer.
