AfriMillions Unveils ₦1 Billion Weekly Lottery, Debuts Live Mega Jackpot Draw on Wazobia Max TV

Nigeria’s digital lottery space takes a dramatic turn as AfriMillions launches a ₦1 billion weekly progressive jackpot with a live, regulator-supervised broadcast on national television and radio.

AfriMillions has stepped into Nigeria’s gaming industry with a bold promise: transparency, scale and digital innovation. The platform marked its arrival with the first-ever ₦1 Billion Mega Jackpot Draw, aired live on Wazobia Max TV and simulcast on radio, placing the spotlight on what it describes as a new standard for lottery operations in the country.

The inaugural broadcast, hosted by Mannie Essien, was conducted under regulatory supervision, with the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, Mr Bashir Abiola Are, present at the event — a move aimed at reinforcing public confidence in the process and compliance with gaming laws.

According to the organisers, the entire draw process and results will also undergo independent verification by certified observers to ensure strict adherence to operational guidelines.

Live Draw, Public Oversight, Regulatory Presence

AfriMillions says the decision to make the draw a live televised and radio event is central to its commitment to openness.

“This event isn’t just about the jackpot; it’s about building public trust through live, verified broadcasts,” the company said in a statement.

The weekly programme, now branded as The AfriMillions Show, will air every Saturday at 8:00 pm on Wazobia Max TV and radio, turning the lottery draw into a recurring national broadcast event.

A Mobile-First Lottery for the Digital Age

Positioning itself as more than a traditional lottery, AfriMillions is built as a mobile-first platform designed for digital participation. Players can access games, purchase tickets and follow draw activities online, while the company maintains daily engagement through social media and interactive games.

The platform is also preparing to introduce what it calls a “world-first” feature that allows a single lottery ticket to be shared digitally among up to 10 people — effectively modernising the long-standing lottery syndicate system with traceable and transparent participation.

Global Partnership, Local Compliance

AfriMillions is partnering with ATL Group, an international lottery solutions provider, as part of its operational backbone. The company says this collaboration combines global technical expertise with local regulatory compliance to ensure credibility and smooth delivery.

With a ₦1 billion progressive jackpot at the centre of its offering and weekly live draws now on air, AfriMillions is positioning itself as a major player in Nigeria’s evolving digital gaming market.
