Senator Uche Ekwunife, deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in last Saturday’s Anambra election, has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his victory.
Ekwunife’s statement comes just a day after her principal, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, alleged widespread intimidation, violence, and vote-buying during the polls. Ukachukwu had indicated that he would consult with party leaders before deciding on legal action.
In a press release, Ekwunife emphasized that the interests of Anambra must come first. She expressed pride in the efforts she and Ukachukwu put into the campaign, calling the support from their followers “a victory of faith, unity, and hope, a victory that no ballot can erase.”
“Though the election outcome may not have been what we desired, I am profoundly proud of the effort that Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu and I put into this race. I am humbled by the outpouring of love and support we received,” she said.
Ekwunife thanked campaign supporters, young people who canvassed door-to-door, and families who prayed for their success. She urged everyone to prioritize peace and unity in Anambra, adding:
“I extend my warm congratulations to His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, on his victory and re-election for a second term. I sincerely wish him success in leading Anambra to greater heights. When Anambra succeeds, we all succeed.”
Her message highlights a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration, encouraging all stakeholders to work together toward the state’s development.
