APC dismisses Udenta’s 2027 collapse prediction as ‘cheap, empty talk’

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected claims by Prof. Udenta Udenta that the ruling party will disintegrate before the 2027 general elections.

Udenta, a founding National Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy, had said during a television interview on Tuesday that the APC was heading for collapse ahead of the next polls.

Reacting in a statement on Wednesday, APC spokesperson in Lagos, Mr Seye Oladejo, described Udenta’s remarks as “cheap and empty talk,” accusing him of indulging in rhetoric without evidence.

“Let us be generous with a lesson in political reality: predicting the fall of a party from a studio chair does not make the forecast true,” Oladejo said.

He argued that contrary to Udenta’s claim, the APC was growing stronger nationwide.
“Prof. Udenta’s interview was loud on rhetoric and short on evidence – a predictable pattern when critics mistake wishful thinking for analysis.

“We invite him to step out of the broadcast booth and tour our structures, where millions of Nigerians are organising, volunteering, and registering their commitment to progressive governance,” the statement added.
