
Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, has praised the notable improvement in security across Enugu State under Governor Peter Mbah’s administration. The commendation came during a courtesy visit to the Governor at Government House, Enugu, on Thursday, coinciding with the closing ceremony of the Nigerian Army Regimental Sergeant Majors’ (RSM) Conference 2025.
Shaibu acknowledged the governor’s support for the Nigerian Army in fulfilling its constitutional duties, describing the security situation in Enugu as having “improved tremendously” based on intelligence and field reports.
Governor Mbah congratulated Lt. Gen. Shaibu on his appointment, highlighting his proactive approach to national security challenges. He credited the Army’s collaboration, alongside other security agencies, for the enhanced protection of lives and property in the state.
“The safe and secure environment we enjoy in Enugu today is a product of partnership and sacrifice between the state and the Nigerian Army,” Mbah said. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining this cooperation and working with the Army to further President Bola Tinubu’s national security objectives.
The visit reflects a strong partnership between the Enugu State government and the Nigerian Army, underscoring ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and bolster confidence in security across the state.
