Big Brother Naija alumna Queen Mercy Atang has confirmed the end of her one-year marriage to David Oyekanmi. The reality TV star, who is also a single mother, tied the knot in March 2024 amid ongoing disputes with her child’s father, skit maker Lord Lamba.

Speculation about marital troubles surfaced months after the wedding, when Mercy unfollowed her husband on Instagram and removed their wedding photos. At the time, she explained that she was “trying to take my marriage off social media and reduce some of the things I put out there.”

The confirmation came on Wednesday after a fan asked about her marital status in response to a recent Instagram post. Mercy replied succinctly, “Single and unavailable.”

Queen Mercy, known for her role on the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye season, has maintained a low profile since the separation, focusing on personal growth and her daughter.
