
Popular Nigerian comedian and social media personality Broda Shaggi, real name Samuel Perry, has been hospitalised following an alleged gunshot incident while filming a comedy skit under the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State.
The entertainer sustained the injury on Sunday afternoon during a recording session with his production crew, sources told journalists. Details of how the shooting occurred remain unclear, and the incident is currently under investigation.
A police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Broda Shaggi was rushed to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, where he received first aid. He was later referred to Duchess Hospital in Ikeja’s Government Residential Area, where he is now recuperating.
“The comedian was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. His crew quickly took him to the hospital. We are yet to confirm the full circumstances of the incident,” the source said.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, told Vanguard that the incident had not been formally reported to the command. Authorities are reportedly monitoring the situation and are expected to investigate further to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting.
