Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has predicted an all-English showdown between Arsenal and Manchester City in this season’s UEFA Champions League final.
Speaking on The Dressing Room podcast, Cole said Arsenal’s impressive run so far makes them strong contenders to reach the final. The Gunners have won all their matches in the competition and are set to face Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16.
Manchester City, however, have been handed a daunting tie against Real Madrid in the knockout stage — a clash that could define their European campaign.
“I think it is going to be an Arsenal vs Manchester City final,” Cole said. “My only bet would be Arsenal going to the final.
“With Manchester City, you still don’t know, because there’s too many good teams.”
Arsenal’s consistency and commanding performances have fueled optimism among supporters, with many believing this could be the season they go all the way in Europe.
City, under Pep Guardiola, remain one of the tournament favourites but must navigate past the 14-time European champions Real Madrid to keep their hopes alive.
An all-Premier League final would mark another significant chapter in English football’s dominance on the continental stage — but with Europe’s elite still in contention, the road to Wembley promises drama.
