Chidinma Ojukwu Denies Discussing Super TV CEO’s Death with Co-Defendant

Chidinma Ojukwu, the former University of Lagos student accused of killing Super TV Chief Executive Officer, Michael Usifo Ataga, has denied ever discussing his death with her co-defendant, Adedapo Quadri.

Testifying before a Lagos High Court on Monday, Ojukwu said her interactions with Quadri were limited to drug transactions and assistance in producing her school identity card.

“I never had any discussion with Adedapo Quadri about the death of Ataga,” she told the court during cross-examination by Quadri’s counsel, Babatunde Busari. “The only transactions we had were for the supply of ‘Loud’ and Rohypnol. He also helped me to produce my school ID card.”

Ojukwu, a former 300-level Mass Communication student at UNILAG, faces multiple charges alongside Quadri and a third defendant, Chioma Egbuchu.

The Lagos State Government is prosecuting the trio on a nine-count charge. Ojukwu and Quadri are accused of conspiracy, murder, and stabbing, while Egbuchu is charged with stealing Ataga’s iPhone 7.

During the cross-examination, Busari sought to establish whether his client, Quadri, had any connection to Ataga’s death. Ojukwu maintained that Quadri “knew nothing” about what transpired in the apartment where Ataga was found dead in June 2021.

The trial, which has drawn significant public attention since Ojukwu’s arrest, continues to unfold as both the prosecution and defence present their cases.
