Crayon Opens Up on Past Crush on Tiwa Savage, Reveals How He Started Smoking “Backy”

Nigerian singer Crayon has sparked reactions after opening up about his past admiration for fellow music star Tiwa Savage and how their interaction influenced a personal habit.

Speaking during a candid interview with streamer Caterefe, the artist revealed that he had a strong crush on Tiwa Savage in 2018 while he was still an emerging act. At the time, both artistes were associated with Mavin Records.

Crayon claimed that during one of their encounters, the singer asked if he smoked. After he responded affirmatively, he said she handed him what is commonly referred to as “Backy.”

According to him, that moment marked the beginning of his use of the substance, which he described as a mixture often associated with harmful and addictive drugs.

“Tiwa Savage was my crush in 2018. She gave me my first Backy. She asked if I smoked, and I said yes. Since then, I started smoking Backy,” he said.

His revelation has since triggered conversations online, with many fans reacting to both the personal nature of his disclosure and the broader concerns around substance use within the entertainment industry.
