Dangote Refinery Cuts Diesel Price by ₦80 to ₦1,700/Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of diesel by ₦80 per litre, bringing it down from ₦1,780 to ₦1,700.

The new price takes effect from Wednesday, October 7, 2026, according to a notice issued to the refinery’s customers.

The reduction represents a cut of about 4.5 per cent and comes amid declining diesel import costs and movements in the international crude oil market.

Data from the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria showed that the estimated spot landing cost of diesel fell by more than ₦127 per litre between September 30 and October 2.

The latest reduction marks the second time Dangote Refinery has cut its diesel price within a month.

The move could provide some relief for businesses and transport operators that depend heavily on diesel, although the extent of any reduction at the retail level will depend on how marketers adjust their prices.
