Ayo Labinjoh, alleged mother of singer Davido’s teenage daughter, Aanu Adeleke, has responded to her daughter’s ongoing paternity controversy, disputing claims made by the musician regarding DNA tests.
Davido recently stated that all five DNA tests conducted on Aanu showed she is not his biological daughter and added that he has never met Ayo Labinjoh, whom he publicly insulted. The statements followed an open letter from Aanu requesting a paternity test.
Speaking via a statement posted on her daughter’s Instagram account, Ayo Labinjoh claimed she met Davido at HQClub but accused him of abandoning her because he assumed she was a prostitute. She further challenged the validity of the DNA tests, asserting that her daughter’s blood sample was mishandled.
“Dr Deji Adeleke took us to a LAB, not a hospital, where Anu’s blood was drawn in 2014, then discarded behind our backs and a fake result was printed,” she said. Lab technician Wale Sobola allegedly posed as “Dr Alex,” while another individual, identified as the brother of actress Sotayo Gaga, reportedly wrote that no test was performed and the blood was discarded.
Ayo Labinjoh also claimed that Davido has verbally threatened both her and her daughter, prompting her to seek an independent, supervised DNA test through the US State Department and the Nigerian Embassy. “David chatted with my daughter threatening to lock me up, cursing Anu and repeatedly bullying her. I will request the US State Department…to help us supervise and witness a clean independent DNA test,” she said.
She stressed that her daughter is fighting for her identity and condemned public comments that disparaged her family. “Saying you’ve never met me or telling your family that I was a prostitute is wrong. Bullying my daughter is WRONG,” she added.
The dispute has reignited public debate in Nigeria over celebrity accountability, paternity rights, and the ethics of handling sensitive personal information on social media.
